In this album, Mateo touches on his past and his fight through homelessness with his wife and two teenage children. Nothing is Perfect paints a picture about his true life experiences he endured and how he mentally feels in this fast and busy life with the younger culture.

 

In the song Not Gone Forever, Mateo shares his attempt to return to his happy old self, and finding his way back home, back to the person he used to be. Rescue Me is Mateo's sacrifice to his wife that he needs her and wants her by his side. Someone he relies on every day, and the growth their parenting lifestyle.

 

Hope touches on Mateo's spiritiuality and belief in God, Our Lord and Savior. A lot of Mateo's adult friends are in co-parenting relationships, and it hurts to see couples struggling to carry a healthy relationship, especially when parents are involved. 

 

Send Them a Message was written during a time Mateo was homeless, and had no money to his pocket, not even for a hotel. Him and his wife had to sleep in a van at Park & Rides throughout several full time worknights. This song pleaded for help as they survived off free reward points for fast food restaurants while surviving out of a van. Mateo continues to plead for our political leaders to come together.

 

Curves to Corner shares about his experience as a dad, husband, and a parent. His dedication to always be there for them throughout all the long years ahead. Life isn't one straight path, but with proper guidance and confidence, life can be peaceful for each and every one of us. Join Mateo as he encourages ownership.
