World of Innovation
I've been immersed in the world of technology since childhood. A strong focus on both technical and engineering roles has shaped my personal and professional journeys.
As an intern in 2008, senior year of high school, I got the lucky opportunity to learn about enterprise technology before going to college. I went to 12th grade half days and worked part time as a Desktop Support Intern.
I attended Herzing University for a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, later changing my major to Technology Management. Majority of the tech at this time was VMware, Citrix, Windows Server, and Red Hat Linux at the institutional and enterprising level.
Virtualization was early in its adoption and birth stages. Majority of virtualization at the time was not at the server level, but rather at the host level.
I had to take an indefinite break from the world of technology. My wife Jennifer and I were blessed with our baby girl. Family took priority for us while having a healthy balance between work and life.
Great Lakes Corp.
I dedicated about 5 years working for an organization that made me feel welcomed. It was a place I learned so much, and I was able to offer so much in return. I miss my days working for Great Lakes.
I also completed an e-QIP federal security clearance for governmental contracted work.
Applications Included:
Baby number two on the way! Our Son!
Our two kiddos kept us plenty busy at home.
I began to experiment with professional audio equipment in order to better understand the fundamentals of audio waveforms and vibrations of sound.
Adapting to terminology such as Hertz (Hz), Decibels (db), microphone patterns, XLR jacks, and audio clipping became all too familiar.
I was still working for Great Lakes as a Service Center Technician while working from home and testing the "work-from-home" concept.
It's crazy to imagine all this existed prior to COVID!
We also provided 24/7 on-call support through a rotational schedule. During my tenure at Great Lakes, I obtained my certification in ITIL Foundation v3.
DeForest Schools
I took a position working for our local school district as a Technology Technician.
During this opportunity, I had a variety of new projects to tackle:
Formulated an in-house mobile repair workbench replacing cracked displays and headphone jack repairs.
Software at the school district:
CoreBTS
You'll have to excuse my sarcasm. I obtained a lot of gainful experience as a Service Desk Analyst.
We supported hundreds of organizations and businesses remotely, providing 24/7 help desk tier 1/2 support as well as co-located hardware and on-site networking solutions.
When COVID lockdown occurred, all of us were forced to work remotely from home, something I was all too familiar with.
Wisconsin Court System
I took a position working for the Capitol's IT department for the Wisconsin Court System statewide as a Court Support Engineer.
During this opportunity, I had a variety of new projects to tackle:
The stress of traveling caused me to step down from my position at the state, although I will never forget all of the amazing opportunities this job had blessed me with for the short time I was there.
Software used in and out of courts:
Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
Journey Mental Health
Working in healthcare organizations has been a common area for me, by pure coincidence. I took on a role as a Senior Technical Service Engineer.
Considering it was a Apple/Mac environment, this was a whole new learning opportunity for me.
As life would have it, my position was eliminated at Journey due to some necessary administrative and financial challenges the organization was facing. Journey dealing with tricky financial decisions at a city and county level in a post-COVID environment made for some challenging moments for everyone.
